Wills must be legally drafted, translated (if required), and notarized or registered with DIFC, Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, or Dubai Courts.
Joint Wills (for couples) and mirror Wills are also legally accepted.
A Will can cover movable and immovable assets in the UAE and abroad.
Guardianship of minor children can also be included in the Will.
If no Will exists, UAE courts will distribute assets based on default legal frameworks, which may cause delays and disputes.

How to Register a Will in the UAE

Consult with Legal Experts: Get your Will drafted professionally according to UAE regulations.
Choose Your Registration Body: DIFC Wills Centre, Abu Dhabi Wills Office, or Dubai Courts.
Translate (if necessary): If the Will is in English and registering with Dubai Courts, it must be legally translated into Arabic.
Notarization or Online Registration: Submit your Will for registration either through court notary or online portals.
Receive Legal Confirmation: Once approved, your Will is legally binding and recognized across the UAE
